Love it.

I love your music. You definetely have one of the most interesting styles on NG. I guess all Swedes are good producers. I love the IDM/Trip Hop feel in this song. Especially the crunchy drum dist! Was that a Scream4 sb patch? Or was it a handbuilt patch? Anyways, great song. Like the sine wave lead and the vox. But the scratches were orgasmic. Anyways. PM if you'd have time to collab, I'm also a dedicated Reason 3.0.4 user.

Thomas, (a.k.a Glib, a.k.a Watercolour)

Thanks for your vote, Glib! You voted 5 for Rucklo - Distress Call, raising its score from 4.29 to 4.38.

Rucklo responds:

That´s a scream 4 that i think was bitcrushed some... i kept the skratching mono, and the crunhyness on the sides... maybe it didnt work that well... ill have to experiment more with that stuff... I never used preset on the scream4, i never noticed it could actaully save patches even :)

Glad ya liked the song! I PM´ed you about collab, just damn respond if you wannna do it ;)

LAWL

I've always liked this song. I consider it one of WinTang's best ever and a studio sounding production. But with the portuguese vocals. It kicks more ass. Reminds me of Bebel Gilberto and Carlos Jobim, all that calm sounding bossa nova jazz shit. Nice.

lawl indeed sir.
i don't know who Bebel Gilberto and Carlos Jobim are but i'm going to assume they have huge cojones...

WOOTWOOT

Nice intro. With those classic PBJ lo-fi pads. :) Then the delicate rhodes come in nicely. Greate song. I would love to remix this. Although we don't share Reason. :(

Awesome.

Niiiiice. Love this song. Great to see we have another experimental/idm artist here on NG. Anyways.

The intro is nice with the bassy sub. Then when the 303 acid comes in. It's swell. Nice drum chops with pitch changes and glitches. This isn't my favourite song from you. But you have the most awesome style on NG. Seriously.

Could you rate and review my music? I only have 2 songs.

Thanks.

I produce IDM/Experimental/Ambient

Btw, Base 4 meets base 5 is a kick-ass song. Very Boards of Canada-ish.

attemptedperfection responds:

hey, if you like drum chops and glitches, you should check out "B2tG/LK2Bw1WMD(final version)"
but yeah, thanks tons and tons for the review! it's always great to hear someone likes my work, but "the most awesome style on NG?" that may be saying a bit much! if you look around some, you'll find some real geniuses here, I guarantee it.
I was trying to pinpoint what b4mb5 kinda reminded me of, and I think you hit the nail on the head...
but yeah, thanks again for the review; I'll get around to returning the favor soon.

Niiiice.

This song was chill. Like your other ones. The intro, didn't sound right to me. But then it fit with the song. I just didn't like that pad you used. But then when the square synth came in, I didn't mind. And the gentle reversed samples in the BG gave it a nice full feeling. Then when the IDM'ish beat comes in, it gives it a nice electronica feel. Great song. I've also heard the songs on your album, Undiscovered Species. I'm also an IDM/Experimental/Ambient producer. I have two songs up on NG. It would be so awesome if you reviewed them both and voted 5 :)

Anyways 5/5

Gillenium responds:

Hey thanks. Glad to hear my album isn't completely undiscovered :D

Nice. :)

This song was pretty good. Very laid-back and chill. Good use of samples. Great drumwork also! Is this your first song ever? And if I may ask? Your using fruityloops right?

Anyways.Check your Inbox, :) I sent you a message.

I can't dl the song now since its not verified yet.

Anyways.

Tzunami responds:

I've done song work since Jan-Feb, and have others I can submit, but they are over the 4k kb limit. FruityLoops Yes, and thanks.

grarargar.

Beat monster, 808 kicker, goat fucker, radio tweaker, acid sniffer, sponge towel user. Nice. The song was missing some delicate pads. It's great though. Check out my audio page plz and vote 5 if you wish.. Kthbai.

Diggin it'

Sweet. I like the glitchy intro. Then when those aphex-ish pads come in. I orgasm. But I'm not feelin' that beat. It was weak. You should of done some chopping in that moment. But the rest is good. A bit short though.

Anyways, 5/5.

Can you check out my audio page (new one)? I got two songs up there.

- Thomas (Watercolour)

Nice.

GODDAMNIT? WHERES THE FREAKIN' REVERB? The song sounded like one of those MIDI's on the internet. You need some rvrb to make those strings sound real. Let's leave that aside though.

Great song. I've heard better. I'm being totally honest. The song sounded off key at times, especially at chords. But this wasn't bad. You've had way better songs. Since I vote 5 all the time...

Thanks for your vote, Contraptionite! You voted 5 for SQ in G min - I. Largo (3:33), raising its score from 4.00 to 4.25.

Check out my audio page on this account if you wish. :)

WinTang responds:

Hi Thomas! Thanks for honoring this with a review, I was afraid it wouldn't get any attention at all :)

It's the first draft, I'm not entirely happy with it myself yet, but there's a few things I should probably clarify:

So yeah, that reverb. At first I heavily reverbed it, but the thing is that it's actually meant to be just a cello, viola and two violins (string quartet). With the solo strings of Edirol it sounded VERY midi-ish, but with all the reverb it was too much an ensemble for my liking, and the separate voices blended too much. Trust me, the MIDI I whipped up to make this sounds even more horrible. But I found that some panning does wonders too, so I'll look into the reverb when I finish it.

It's never really off-key, but it does have some crunchy dissonants, mainly because of the constantly sustaining central D note. All dissonance and bitonality is intentional and every chord has been thought out... whether or not that appeals to you is an entirely different matter of course. Perhaps if you give it a few more listens, it will become somewhat clearer. Or not.

I'm not by any means disregarding your comments, the thing is a big experiment and all input is welcome, especially from skilled musicians like yourself.

Thanks a lot for your 5 and I'll swing by your new page shortly!
