Nice.

GODDAMNIT? WHERES THE FREAKIN' REVERB? The song sounded like one of those MIDI's on the internet. You need some rvrb to make those strings sound real. Let's leave that aside though.

Great song. I've heard better. I'm being totally honest. The song sounded off key at times, especially at chords. But this wasn't bad. You've had way better songs. Since I vote 5 all the time...

Thanks for your vote, Contraptionite! You voted 5 for SQ in G min - I. Largo (3:33), raising its score from 4.00 to 4.25.

Check out my audio page on this account if you wish. :)

WinTang responds:

Hi Thomas! Thanks for honoring this with a review, I was afraid it wouldn't get any attention at all :)

It's the first draft, I'm not entirely happy with it myself yet, but there's a few things I should probably clarify:

So yeah, that reverb. At first I heavily reverbed it, but the thing is that it's actually meant to be just a cello, viola and two violins (string quartet). With the solo strings of Edirol it sounded VERY midi-ish, but with all the reverb it was too much an ensemble for my liking, and the separate voices blended too much. Trust me, the MIDI I whipped up to make this sounds even more horrible. But I found that some panning does wonders too, so I'll look into the reverb when I finish it.

It's never really off-key, but it does have some crunchy dissonants, mainly because of the constantly sustaining central D note. All dissonance and bitonality is intentional and every chord has been thought out... whether or not that appeals to you is an entirely different matter of course. Perhaps if you give it a few more listens, it will become somewhat clearer. Or not.

I'm not by any means disregarding your comments, the thing is a big experiment and all input is welcome, especially from skilled musicians like yourself.

Thanks a lot for your 5 and I'll swing by your new page shortly!

Nice.

Looooooove this one. Sorta IDM, Ambient Techno, Psy Trance. This song is very Felix da Housecat like. It reminds me of his song Metropolis. With the swirling vocals mixed in with the kicks and samples and such. Anyways, great song. Definitely movie material. In this song, I picture a young man at his desk. In a white room. He has glasses. He is solving some very critical mathematical equations, that secure the fate of a loved one.

I can also picture someone hacking with this song on. :)

Thanks for your vote, Contraptionite! You voted 5 for -=LJC=- Psychomathic Killer LQ, raising its score from 3.33 to 3.75.

LJCoffee responds:

Hi there!

Good description - sorta this and a little like that - lots of different styles found their way into this track. As for the guy in glasses in a white room - whoever that guy might be I'd say he was fairly unstable and prone to sudden fits of violence.

Thank you for your vote and your comments - things have slowed down around here lately. I've only gotten a handful of reviews and votes since they installed the PM system. And I just cannot bring myself to send out a PM to everyone asking them to have a listen. So once again, thanks for being one of the 6 people that know who I am :D

I'll check your new stuff out as well!

Awwww yeaaah.

Nothings better than accoustic IDM is there? Awesome steez in this song. All the pitch-pending, LFO changing, reversing, mastering, ass fucking and guitar warping is swell. Great song. Not my favourite from you. But still, awesome.

Thanks for your vote, Contraptionite! You voted 5 for -=LJC=- Pureed Guitar strings, raising its score from 4.67 to 4.75.

LJCoffee responds:

90% of the samples were created using Reaktor - I love that tool - it's very easy to lose an hour every time you open it. I dig the warped up samples - they're just on the sick side of being rythmic... almost... but they have such a sickly feel to them - I'll agree with you that this isn't my favorite either but I had a lot of fun making it!
I only wish that more than a dozen people would hear it!

Later :D

CHODE

As soon as I heard that mellow pad, I knew it was pbj. You've got some awesome steez there mate. I can hear Radiohead influence stuff in your music. Love this one. We gotta collab. I could lay down some drumwork. Anyways. Rising of the Land is still my favourite from you.

Two new songs up on me new account. 5/5 for FMFIHFOTBT and Flounder. Anyways. Eternal sexual favours if you go to my audio page.

Awesome.

Nuff' said. Great atmosphere in this song. Nice delicate old sounding piano. Love that sound. Ambient voices are nice. :) 5/5 :)

If you wouldn't mind. :)

Could you check out my audio page? I only have one song anyways. Rate and Review if possible.

Thanks for the review!

I'd be glad to check your page.

Nice. :):):):)

The beggining with the conga, guiro thingy got me bored as hell. But when the amen chops came in, I was like, awwwwww yeah. That got me into the song. Vox was good. Only thing missing was a CRAZY fast amen break. It wasn't bad. Just not fast enough. :)
Great song though, you're one of my favs.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

yo bro,
yep ur right, no crazy fast amen break...back to the drawing board.
forgive me jesus, (amen) and ting.
cheers

Erm.

I'm expecting you just MIDI ripped this. Because it sounds exactly like the mid. on the internet. Just different synths, bass synths etc. But I'm not assuming anything. The song itself sounded cheesy. Seriously, VG Remixes are ok but they have to be original. PX9 doesn't MIDI rip, that's for sure. His music is well produced. Not amazing, but well produced. Anyways, I'll give you the 5.

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

Naw, I made this whole thing from scratch, except for the drums, in which I used a template set for that. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's probably the instruments. The program I use has a good selection of instruments, but they sound like what you hear here.

And if there honestly is another song just like this, link me. I wanna check it out.

Nice.

Time for my 2nd review. :)

The song was great overall with the classic techno kicks mixed with the panned drum chops and such. When the song started up at about 175 bpm (not sure) it was nice. My only beef with this song is the acid synth. It doesn't have that funky, 90's, Aphex Twin style acid synth here. It sounded dry and with a sore throat. Anyways, I'm off to review more. :) Your music is great. My song is uploaded so stop by for a review if you want.

LJCoffee responds:

I'll get my synth some vicks - Actually, It was a test run on the KarmaFX Synth available free from:
http://www.karmafx.dk/index.html#b1
you should check it out - it's fun as all hell to play with.

The lead was a handbuilt synth (my first try) so I'll accept that it doesn't sound as good as it could.

I think I've already left a comment of two on your track - I'm not sure though so I'll head that way now.

Thanks - I'm really looking forward to hearing more from you on NG.

FUCK!

HOLY SHIT MIND RAPE.

Geez. Nice and soft. I can see a lady giving birth. The baby is nice and perfect. They go to Wal-Mart to go buy him some nice and soft baby clothes.

The production itself is nice. I can tell this was made in Reason ,anyways, I can't criticize this type of music. Have fun. Keep making music. It's good.

Khuskan responds:

'I can see a lady giving birth'

This wins my REVIEW OF 2006 AWARD.
